Idaho Workforce Development Task Force to Meet May 19

Funding Idaho’s workforce development efforts and educating and connecting Idahoans to nontraditional career options will be the focus of the next Governor’s Workforce Development Task Force meeting Friday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. MT.

The meeting will be held in the East Side Conference Room located on the first floor of the J.R. Williams Building, 700 W. State St. in Boise.

Additional agenda topics include a comparison of state funding formulas, sustaining apprenticeships and the Idaho Business for Education's report on career and technical education.

Following the presentations, the task force will hold open discussions and begin writing recommendations based on best practices.

Idaho Gov. C. L. “Butch” Otter established the Workforce Development Task Force in January 2017 to find solutions for funding and delivering a skilled workforce for Idaho. Task force members represent employers in health care, aerospace, food processing, natural resources, advanced manufacturing, energy and construction. Members also include legislators and educators.
