Empowering Idaho’s youth through training and job placement.

The Idaho Job Corps program serves Idaho’s youth, age 16-24 by connecting them to skills training and employment. The Idaho Department of Labor has partnered with a local community college to bring you the Job Corps program.

Currently, students can earn a high school diploma or GED while training at the College of Western Idaho to work in a growing industry. Job Corps staff will help students find the perfect career path to meet their needs.

Who is eligible for Idaho Job Corps?

In order to participate in Idaho Job Corps, students must:

  1. Be between the ages of 16-24
  2. Meet income qualification
  3. Have an educational barrier to employment
  4. Have registered for Selective Service (males only)
  5. Be able to participate in a group without interference to others
  6. Agree to comply with rules of the center
  7. Not have any severe felony convictions or significant legal involvement
  8. Not be on parole or supervised probation

Once admitted, students will engage in extensive career exploration and will work closely with an academic adviser who will help set up a career pathway. Each student will participate in work-based learning, life skills coaching, physical fitness and service learning.
