Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to provide Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) instruction to students in this program.

Key Responsibilities
1) Ensure all candidates are qualified to enter the program (e.g., background check, polygraph, and interview). 5%
2) Provide POST approved introductory safety training to all students (all semester). 10%
3) Provide entry level instruction in weapons, apprehension, and emergency vehicle operation. 20%
4) Instruct students to POST standards in necessary report writing, hands-on training in traffic stops, detention, and building entry. 30%
5) Conduct and certify students in CPR, first aid, and emergency procedures pertinent to law enforcement. 35%

Minimum Qualifications
1) Eight years of recent, documented field experience in law enforcement.
2) Be able to qualify in accordance with Idaho Career Technical Education (see following link) https:cte.idaho.gov/educators/certifications.
3) Have practical experience necessary to teach the majority of POST required courses.

Preferred Qualifications
1) Documented experience in a variety of law enforcement careers.
2) Specific teaching experience in a POST approved teaching institution.
