Primary Purpose

This position is part of the team that provides the accounting support for the Foundation and existing and future ancillary units.  Within the oversight of the Finance Director, this position has primary responsibility for day-to-day financial accounting and financial software management.  This position is responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of the monthly financial statements and the day-to-day accounting and oversight for all financial transactions for the Foundation. This position provides monthly reconciliations between the financial and donor database gift records and ad hoc reporting from the accounting and donor software. This position is one of the primary contacts for the external auditors and tax accountant and is the primary contact for ISU departments and employees.

1.    Prepare, analyze, and/or audit all financial transactions for the ISU Foundation
2.    Audit preparation for the ISU Foundation
3.    Administration of accounting software for ISU Foundation, Blackbaud Financial Edge
4.    Tax reporting preparation
5.    Accounts payable processing
6.    Month End Transfers
7.    Wells Fargo Loan
8.    General Finance Tasks
9.    Oversee and Manage Gift Processing and Accounting Support

Minimum Qualifications

1.  Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
2.  Three (3) years experience with Accounting, Finance, or Business-Related Field
3.  Experience working with general ledger, accounts payable, journal vouchers, and reconciliation of bank statements and transactions
4.  Experience with audit (being audited or being an auditor)
5.  Accounting software experience
6.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

1.  Not-for-Profit or Fund Accounting experience
2.  Accounting for investments
3.  Preparation of audited financial statements
4.  Advanced excel knowledge
5.  Gift processing
6.  Experience in Tax Accounting
7. Supervisory Experience

Priority consideration will be given to applications received by April 17, 2017. However, the position will remain open until filled. The approved salary range is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. Includes a competitive benefits package. Offers of employment may be conditional pending successful completion of a background investigation.
