Primary Purpose
To teach, to conduct research, to aid in curriculum and program development, and to provide service to the university and community.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach all levels of Hispanic language and literature, and assist in the development of the Spanish program. Applicants should be effective teachers and have an active research agenda that demonstrates the potential for producing peer reviewed publications. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in research, curriculum development and student advising in both the traditional and Spanish for Health Professions programs, and engage in department, college, and university committee work.

Minimum Qualifications
PhD or ABD with confirmed PhD completion by August 2018 in relevant fields such as Peninsular or Latin American literature, cultural studies, or sociolinguistics.
Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the development, assessment, and delivery of online coursework and curriculum development.
Familiarity with ACTFL standards and ability to teach linguistics.
