Primary Purpose
This position is responsible for the daily operations of accepting, registering, and advising of students at the College of Technology and this role is designed to specifically meet the needs of career technical students.

Key Responsibilities
1.  The academic advisor assists students in becoming accepted to Idaho State University and the College of Technology once they have completed the application process.
2.  The advisor meets with every applicant personally prior to admission into the college.
3.  The College of Technology advisor participates in retention projects that directly impacts the persistence of College of Technology students including at-risk populations.
4.  This position meets with existing College of Technology students to assist them with scheduling and registration needs.
5.  This position meets with students as necessary to assist them with policy questions as well as petitions and appeals.

Minimum Qualifications
1.  Bachelor's degree in a related field.
2.  Ability to interpret and administer policies and procedures.
3.  Ability to manage stress and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
4.  Ability to multi-task.
5.  Collaborative working style and strong work ethic.
6.  Strong organizational skills.
7.  Excellent writing and speaking skills.

Preferred Qualifications
1.  Master's degree in related field.
2.  Three years advising experience within higher education.
3.  Knowledge of Career-Technical Education at-large.

The approved salary range is $38,000 - $42,000, commensurate with education and experience.
