Primary Purpose

Coordination of the competency based curriculum of the ISU-Meridian Dietetic Internship in tandem with the ISU-Pocatello Dietetic Internship ensuring adherence to education standards from the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordination of the competency based curriculum of the ISU-Meridian Dietetic Internship in tandem with the ISU-Pocatello Dietetic Internship.
2. Ensuring adherence to education standards from the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
3. Teach NTD 4486/4488 Dietetic Internship Seminar I and II which is a 6 credit hour didactic course (4 hours live in Meridian and 2 hours synchronous with Pocatello);
4. Coordination of the NTD 4487/4489 Internship in Dietetics I and II (11 credit hours, 32 clinical placement hours in several rotation sites throughout the Treasure Valley).
5. Recruitment and retention of approximately 25 rotation/precepting sites critical to the success of the ISU-Meridian Dietetic Internship.
6. Work with current faculty to develop a masters combined internship slated to begin either fall or 2018 or fall of 2019.
7. Research and service as related to the requirements of the clinical position.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
2. Licensed Dietitian or eligible for licensure in the state of Idaho.
3. Master’s degree in a dietetic related field.
4. Three (3) years of experience practicing as a dietitian.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in teaching college level nutrition courses.
2. Experience in student/intern advising.
3. Program administration experience related to Dietetic Internship accreditation requirements.
4. Familiarity with the Treasure Valley area preceptors for recruitment and retention of internship precepting clinical sites.
5. Five (5) years of experience practicing as a dietitian.
