Primary Purpose

This position is primarily responsible for daily operations in the Banner Financial Aid module and all other auxiliary applications including the Banner Document Management System (BDM), Academic Works, Automic and various reporting tools. Qualified candidates must be proficient in writing SQL, Banner PopSels and Banner rules. This role requires a blend of student financial aid functional knowledge, technical expertise, data analysis skills as well as providing support and maintenance of the various software systems used in the office.

Key Responsibilities

* Serve as the primary technical contact for the Financial Aid and Scholarships Offices.

* Provides daily technical support, user support, and general technical support for the Banner Financial Aid module.

* Creates and modifies requested reports, and provides analysis related to systems and financial aid and scholarship reporting.

* Creates and runs queries to regularly audit financial aid data in the Banner Financial Aid module for accuracy and federal regulatory compliance.

* Designs process flows and sets up jobs in Automic to automate daily and weekly processing and communications.

* Serves as the security manager for Financial Aid systems.

* Acts as the technical liaison with the University Information Technology group.

* Works closely with individuals within and outside the Financial Aid and Scholarships Offices to coordinate and improve reporting processes and provide timely customer service.

* Participates in long-term planning, design evaluation, testing, and implementation of new and revised systems, scripts, rules, reports, and procedures.

* Other technical and reporting tasks as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

* Three or more years in a SQL programming position.

* Extensive computer knowledge, experience with complex relational databases such as Oracle.

* At least one year of technical experience working with and supporting Banner or other ERP system.

* Demonstrated experience writing system and process documentation.

* Ability to communicate highly complex and specialized technical information in understandable terms to management and staff.

* Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.

* Ability to work with minimal supervision and is able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to completion.

* Ability to travel to various conferences and trainings for financial aid and the Banner system.

* In accordance with Federal regulatory requirements, all finalists must be in good standing on any outstanding Federal Title IV student loans and cannot have a repayment due for a Title IV grant.

Preferred Qualifications

* Three or more years working with Ellucian Banner systems, Oracle DBMS, SQL, PL/SQL, Web Tailor, Argos, Academic Works and Automic.

* Master’s degree in relevant field from an accredited institution.

* One or more years of experience in a financial aid system analyst role.
