As a Business Analyst with SIF, you’ll work in conjunction with Developers and Stakeholders from assigned business units to define business requirements and software specifications necessary to ensure the success of technology initiatives for the organization. 

You'll be responsible for:
  • Performing current-state analysis of existing business systems, applications, and functions using a variety of techniques such as brainstorming and structured process walk-through sessions.
  • Becoming deeply immersed and knowledgeable about core business functions, processes, and workflows associated with assigned business unit(s).
  • Working with business unit stakeholders to understand and gather requirements for future-state processes.
  • Clarifying requirements using basic conceptual and logical process/data modeling techniques such as business process flow charts, simple data flows, or workflow.
  • Writing basic SQL statements to identify issues in processes.
  • Documenting future-state process design, illustrating inputs and outputs.
  • Clarifying any ambiguity in business requirements and process flows to ensure sufficient understanding by the technical team.
  • Creating and maintaining business requirements documentation.
  • Working with Quality Assurance resources to answer questions regarding business processes.
  • Acting as the liaison between the business and IT resources.
  • Planning and facilitating end-user training including development of training materials.
  • Providing production support to end users.

Your background should include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or Management Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience.
  • Solid experience eliciting, documenting, and communicating functional and technical requirements to the development teams.
  • Experienced in modeling/mapping as-is and to-be business processes.
  • Experienced in requirements planning, documentation of requirements, and in ensuring requirements are met by IT Developers.
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects, activities, and tasks under time constraints.
  • Strong critical/analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience writing basic SQL statements.
  • Proficient using MS Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with IBM - Rational Team Concert (RTC).
  • Exceptional communication, teamwork, and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a passion for quality in all aspects of your work.
