Primary Purpose
Provide efficient and effective IT systems technology problem identification and resolution for the College of Technology. Will include: answering questions, providing advice, troubleshooting and assisting users in solving technology related problems. Incumbent will log issues into a service tracking system and coordinate problem resolutions with other working groups, and ensure that appropriate communications, hand-off and follow-through occur.  Incumbent will also be involved in implementation of new IT and multimedia technology.

Key Responsibilities
•    Setup, configure and maintain all College of Technology computer labs.
•    Recommend and specify computer equipment.
•    Install, configure, manage network servers and Hyper-V systems.
•    Work with vendors to purchase computers and multimedia equipment.
•    Work as a team member to research and plan for the IT needs of the College of Technology.
•    Recommend and specify software applications to meet the needs of the students, faculty and staff.
•    Install, configure and maintain multimedia equipment in classrooms and conference rooms.
•    Review and respond to service requests using Spiceworks inventory and help desk system.  
•    Provide hardware and software support for Faculty and Staff of the College.
•    Train and supervise student help.
•    Provide IT support to College of Technology satellite centers.
•    Assist in the configuration and maintenance of College of Technology servers.
•    Provide mobile device support.
•    Other duties as assigned, which may include but not limited to working on ladders, moving furniture and equipment related to IT projects, delivery of packages and other tasks as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in computer-related field OR equivalent work experience.
•    One year full-time paid professional work experience in an IT systems support position within the last 5 years.
•    Experience with Server Operating Systems and desktop support.
•    Able to lift and carry 40 lbs., work on ladders.

Preferred Qualifications
•    Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
•    Excellent customer service skills.
•    One year or more full-time paid professional experience supporting Microsoft servers and Active Directory.
•    An in-depth knowledge of the Windows Operating System (Windows 7 or later).
•    Paid professional work experience in Education IT support.
•    Microsoft Certification (MCP) Microsoft Certified Professional.
•    Knowledge/Experience with Apple OS and hardware.
•    Spiceworks Administration - Basic knowledge of day to day operations.
•    Current mobile device support.
