Primary Purpose

The person hired to fill this position will have teaching, research and scholarship, and service responsibilities in the educational administration and leadership programs in the College of Education. This person will also be expected to liaison with state and district educational leaders.

Key Responsibilities

* Teach graduate courses using a variety of virtual and distance education modalities in the Master of Education Administration (leading to school principal certification) the Master of Education in Education Leadership, the Educational Specialist (leading to school district superintendent certification) and the Doctor of Education in Education Administration programs
* Contribute to the knowledge base in the field through publication and presentation of original research and submission of grant and contract proposals at the national and state levels consistent with departmental, college, and university goals
* Assist and direct doctoral research projects, dissertations, and internships
* Participate in unit governance and demonstrate leadership skills through service activities
* Use virtual and web-based modalities and travel to distance learning sites for teaching, recruiting, and advising
* Interface with educational leaders from school districts, state school administrator organizations, and Idaho State Department of Education
*Work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues and education constituents to promote the profile and reputation of the programs and the ISU College of Education
Minimum Qualifications * Earned doctorate in Education Administration or Educational Leadership
* The ability to teach core and concentration area graduate courses in Education Administration (such as leadership, curriculum, assessment, history, law, research methods, statistics, etc.)
* Strong written and verbal skills
* The ability to effectively interact with colleagues, school district leaders, and other education constituents
* Experience as a school district or building level leader

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience as a school district superintendent
* A record of scholarship/grant writing
* Ability to advise and direct graduate student research and service projects
* Experience teaching graduate classes at the college or university level
* Experience teaching in an online environment

Priority consideration will be given to applications received by January 19, 2018. However, the position will remain open until filled. The approved salary range is $45,000 - $53,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. Includes a competitive benefits package. Offers of employment may be conditional pending successful completion of a background investigation.
