Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to provide on-site power generation maintenance and repair techniques. Heavy emphasis will be given to diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of modern diesel and gaseous powered generator sets.

Key Responsibilities
1) Provide introductory safety training to all students (all semester). (5%)
2) Provide entry level instruction principles of power generation in diesel generator sets. (25%)
3) Conduct trouble-shooting techniques on low and medium voltage generator sets in both AC and DC applications. (20%)
4) Provide safe instruction on principles of operation of switch-gear and paralleling operations in on-site power generation. (20%)
5) Conduct safe run-up, load test, and build (rebuild) training aides for student instruction. (20%)
6) Familiarize students to generator operation using different fuels, trouble-shooting, and maintenance. (10%)

Minimum Qualifications
1) Eight years of recent, documented field experience in the on-site power generation maintenance.
2) Be able to qualify in accordance with Idaho Career Technical Education (see following link).   https:cte.idaho.gov/educators/certifications
3) Have practical experience necessary to provide oversight to students dis-assembly/re-assembly low and medium voltage generator components.

Preferred Qualifications
1) Documented experience with major brands of generator sets (e.g., Cummins, Aggrecko, CAT, and Kohler).
2) Specific teaching experience in on-site power generation.
