Idaho’s Department of Insurance is seeking an Insurance Analyst to join its dynamic team of professionals.  Experience with medical language, paying carrier claims and marketing is a plus!

  • Reviews health/disability insurance contract forms and rate filings for compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Analyzes insurance forms which may include other lines of insurance to identify code violations and recommend form revisions to carriers for compliance. 
  • Monitors legislative and regulatory issues regarding health (e.g. Individual and Group PPO, HMO, Dental, Vision and Hospital Indemnity) and other insurances.
  • Communicates interpretations and justifications to clearly inform companies of code violations and administrative penalties.
  • Tracks progress of reviews by accurately inputting data in an electronic records system.
  • Occasionally performs leadwork responsibilities which will include assigning work, providing direction, and monitoring the section’s workload.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of health and disability insurance contracts and coverages
  • Experience:
    • interpreting and analyzing state and federal insurance laws, policies, rules, and regulations
    • preparing written reports and correspondence
    • using an electronic records system to enter, retrieve, and update data and produce reports
