This announcement will be used to fill the current opening in the Hailey office only. 

This is a temporary, part-time, non-benefited position. 

This position will work Monday - Wednesday, 8:30am - 1:30pm; 15 hours per week.

Temporary appointments may be made from this announcement.  Temporary appointments serving at least one thousand forty (1,040) hours of continuous service, may be hired as an entrance probationary employee without further examination for the same classification and location as announced.

SALARY: Starting salary is $15.00 hourly.  This position is used as a training position for Workforce Consultant, Senior (Starting salary for Workforce Consultant, Senior is $15.41hourly).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Workforce Consultant position provides services in employment and training programs, including employer/business and job seeker services such as recruiting, placement, retention and case management. Workforce Consultants can also specialize in the following areas:

  • ES generalist which specializes in a variety of employment-related matters and programs. This includes drafting and reviewing quality job listings, contacting employers to develop job and training opportunities, preparing and conducting job search and interview sessions for candidates, and using internal and external tools such as “Idaho Works”, America's Job Link Alliance (AJLA), Help Wanted On-Line (HWOL), and directing employers to identify job openings and secure placements.
  • WIOA case manager coordinates program referrals, assessments, and participant selections with other staff.  Carries an appropriate caseload of participants from initial assessment through follow up, utilizing the case management process to determine and provide the appropriate level of service required for customers through initial assessment, on-going assessment, planning, intervention, and follow-up.  Provides coaching on career opportunities and pathways. Coordinates with other One Stop system partners when appropriate. Negotiates and manages on-the-job training, classroom training, and work experience contracts. Contacts work/training sites to encourage participation and build partnerships.  Explains program benefits to business, participant and community and discusses the requirements of each.  Develops job/training descriptions and contracts, secures necessary signatures.  Works with business and education to match participant to appropriate high demand, high paying positions and/or work/training sites.  Monitors progress of contract to assure conformity with agreement on the part of each partner.  Responsible for appropriate monitoring of participant enrollments, placements, obligations, expenditures and retention to ensure compliance with allocation restraints and performance goals. This will be 100% of their time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience conducting in-depth fact-finding interviews and documenting findings;
  • assessing and documenting client/customer needs;
  • assisting emotional, difficult, or confrontational people and individuals from varying socio/economic/cultural backgrounds;
  • interpreting and applying regulations or policies and explaining them to others;
  • determining eligibility or qualifications for programs and services and preparing written eligibility decisions;
  • organizing and presenting training to customers;
  • preparing written communication;
  • operating a personal computer with knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • EXAMINATION: Self-Rating Examination. You will receive a score based on your answers to the self-rating examination. You must receive a minimum rating of 70 to pass this examination. Notification of your test results will be available online, after the closing date, when the review process is complete. Scores are valid for 45 days, and will be used for the current recruitment only.
