Location(s): Moscow

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare’s Division of Behavioral Health is currently seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialists for our Moscow field office.  This is a non-benefited, temporary, part-time position working 19 hours a week.

These positions require peer support specialist training and certification in Idaho. Certification as a Peer Support Specialist or eligibility to obtain certification within one year is required; current certification prior to appointment is preferred. The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. Any applicant offered employment in this position at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test. Additionally, applicants will be required to pass a background investigation after a conditional offer of employment. If applicants are not able to pass a background investigation, a waiver process may be available.

  • Provide peer coaching and mentoring in individual and/or group settings
  • Provide recovery, education and support to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance addictions
  • Provide support services to adult clients in a variety of settings
  • Instruct clients in problem-solving, daily living, self-management, and connecting with community supports
  • Monitor client goals, achievements and agreements; make progress notes
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Guide clients in completing documents necessary to implement services; explain applicable laws, policies and procedures to clients
  • Collect client data and provide information and/or arrange for support services such as medical care, legal assistance, housing, employment and other private and public community resources
  • Incumbents may be required to work evenings or weekends as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of Peer Support Specialist training and certification in Idaho or ability to obtain certification within one year of appointment.
  • Valid driver's license
