Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is currently recruiting for a Pharmacist Assistant, Senior at State Hospital South in Blackfoot.

Applicants must be registered with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician. Applicants must also have a Pharmacy technician certification through an approved certification board

The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. Any applicant offered employment at State Hospital South will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Incumbents may be required to lift and carry 30 pounds. Work is performed under the direct supervision of an Idaho licensed pharmacist and in accordance with Idaho Pharmacy Regulations.


  • Preparation of medication orders under the direct supervision of an Idaho Licensed Pharmacist
  • Maintains shelf stock of medications and supplies
  • Maintains files of patient charts and orders, records information, and manages medication profiles of patients
  • Alerts pharmacist to unused medications in patient containers and unusual situations regarding medications
  • Prepares and documents solid and liquid medication packaging for federal and state records
  • Maintains patient confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy, and certification through an approved certification board.
  • Good knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terms and abbreviations.
  • Good knowledge of metric measurements used in pharmaceutical applications.
  • Experience using keyboard to enter and retrieve data.
