The St Anthony Juvenile Corrections Center has an opening for a Clinician.

If you are an assertive individual interested in a rewarding career working with young people, this Clinician position is the job for you!

Juvenile Corrections Center-St. Anthony (JCC-St. Anthony) is the oldest facility of the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections. The facility sits on about 25 acres just one mile west of the city of St. Anthony.  It is a large campus-like facility that currently houses a maximum of 120 juveniles in a treatment environment and eight beds utilized for regional observation and assessment.  JCC-St. Anthony provides a highly structured, staff-secure program using a positive peer model for the custody and treatment of male and female offenders who have a history of various crimes, and have failed in less secure community based programs and facilities.  The JCC-St. Anthony program focuses juveniles on victim and community restoration related to their crimes.  The program also offers cognitive skills building to alter their criminal patterns of thought and requires the juveniles to be accountable daily for their behavior and progress through the program.

During the first few weeks of custody, Clinicians conduct evaluations to better understand the juveniles and develop a service plan with goals designed to help him or her improve educationally, in family functioning, and other needed areas. Once the service plan is developed clinicians in each facility provide individual counseling, as needed, and also family counseling when the proper progress in the treatment program has been reached.

Clinicians for the Department of Juvenile Corrections work with incarcerated juveniles in an institutional environment, providing direct clinical services.  Clinicians work in a facility with juveniles who have the potential for acting out violently and at times may need to assist in physically restraining the juvenile.  Applicants will be working with juvenile sex offenders, with the intent to meet the State Sex Offender Management Boards Standards for Sex Offender Treatment Groups and Psychosexual Evaluations .

Employees at JCC-St. Anthony are dedicated to helping each of the juveniles that come to the facility.  Staff and the juveniles continually work together to create a safe and secure environment that is conducive to making the changes necessary for the juveniles to be able to return to the community with the skills and values that will give them the opportunity to be successful citizens.
