Location(s): St. Anthony

The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections is currently seeking a Business Operations Specialist at the Juvenile Corrections Center in St. Anthony. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing institution support areas including physical plant, grounds operations and maintenance, food services, housekeeping, and laundry.

St. Anthony, located in southeastern Idaho, is just a short drive from many recreational activities including camping, fishing, blue-ribbon fly fishing, hiking, golfing, hunting and winter sports including downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing.   • Plans, organizes, directs and controls institution support areas and supervises staff.
  • Controls budgets for support areas.
  • Conducts on-site visits to summer/winter camp to assure maintenance of camp by support services.
  • Integrates support services with program services to enhance overall service delivery to youth and maximize programming efforts.
  • Participates in institution management involved in strategic planning, organizing, staffing, and directing programs and activities.
  • Participates in development and evaluation of institution objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Recruits, selects, directs and evaluates subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for support services.
  • Conducts special management projects and studies.
  • Conducts weekly inspection of physical plant.
  • Serves as facility Duty Officer for one week approximately once a quarter.
  • Will occasionally have evening, weekend, and/or holiday work.
  • A criminal history background investigation will be conducted on the incumbent of this position. The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections is a drug free work environment. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Some knowledge of management practices.
  • Experience monitoring budgets, analyzing financial reports, and taking corrective action; researching and compiling information for budget development; interpreting and implementing policies, laws, rules, or regulations; developing operating procedures; supervising staff.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Some knowledge of institutional facility support functions including, but not limited to, food service, laundry, maintenance, custodial, housekeeping
  • Experience with space planning and utilization.
  • Experience overseeing remodeling and building maintenance projects.
