The Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI) is seeking a full-time Management Assistant to join our team in Boise.
PERSI's Management Assistant provides administrative support to the Executive Director and requires frequent contact with Board Trustees, members, employer leadership, constituent groups, and third-party vendors/contractors. Additionally, this position may provide administrative assistance to the Deputy Attorney General, the Investments department, and the operational management team.
The successful candidate will have experience communicating and interacting with the public and public officials such as agency heads and the Legislature; creating, modifying, and monitoring the schedule of events for management, boards and/or commissions; writing technical documents, correspondence, guidelines, policies and procedures.
Typical duties of the Management Assistant include:
Coordinate and perform a variety of administrative, secretarial, and clerical office duties
Plan, arrange, and coordinate meetings, presentations, and projects
- Interpret, apply, implement, and communicate agency specific procedures, policies, rules, and statute
Conduct research and analyze statistical information to support inquiries
- Prepare, organize, and file documents, research, reports, news releases, recruiting materials, and web page postings
- Plan agendas, organize materials, record minutes, and generally coordinate meetings of the PERSI Board of Trustees
- May consult with and advise staff and management on state human resource policies and procedures
Experience interpreting and applying regulation or policies and procedures
Experience planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating special projects
Experience independently researching, compiling, developing and summarizing material for reports on a frequent or recurring basis
Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives and developing recommendations for management/administrators
Some knowledge of management practices
Good knowledge of computer applications
Experience in a public relations role
Experience using independent judgment in determining how to resolve complex, sensitive issues or determining which areas and individuals (both internal and external) should be involved in the resolution or decision making due to the complexity, sensitivity, or impact the issue/decision has on the organization and its stakeholders
Experience composing official correspondence, reports, research papers and other complex documents
Some knowledge of personnel administration
