Applications are now being accepted for a Facility Training Coordinator at our Juvenile Corrections Center in St. Anthony.  This is a challenging and exciting opportunity if you are detail oriented, enjoy training, have initiative and enjoy directing your own work, possess exceptional organizational skills and like working, coordinating, and collaborating with others.  Your responsibilities will afford you the opportunity to work with facility leadership and staff as well as the Facility Training Coordinators at the other two Juvenile Corrections Centers in Nampa and Lewiston.


The Facility Training Coordinator is a member of the JCC St. Anthony Management Team. The employee will receive training in order to assist with direct care supervision or transporting of juveniles if necessary.

Training Coordination Coordinates and schedules facility training to include notifying participants, scheduling trainers, reserving rooms and media equipment, preparing course materials, rosters and certificates, and assisting trainers with training as needed.

  • Develops and provides training to facility and department staff for classroom and online training
  • Ensures training requests are complete
  • Updates and maintains training records and compile reports for managers and leadership  
  • Develops the facility's annual training schedule  
  • Presents information at facility planning and/or leadership meetings  
  • Evaluates training requirement trends and makes recommendations on training needs 
  • Maintains resource library and materials 
  • Liaison with POST in training issues and direct care staff certification
  • Coordinates enrollment in POST academies and assists candidates with requirements, completion of paperwork and documentation including background information and waiver letters 
  • Coordinates POST academies and provides training as required  
  • Works with IDJC POST trainers to assist in completion of steps to become Certified POST Instructor  
  • Monitors and approves expenditures for training budget
  • Oversees the administration of the Department’s learning management system (TrainCaster)


  • Provides on-site facility training for high-liability courses such as CPR, First Aid, Effective De-escalation, AUF and POST curriculum, and Program Skills.
  • Works with the Facility Coordinators at the other two facilities to evaluate and revise training curriculum in various content areas.


  • Good knowledge of training theory
  • Experience performing needs assessments, developing training objectives, designing and developing coursework and evaluating the training
  • Experience presenting training to adult groups in structured learning situations
  • Experience using a variety of training methods
  • Must hold a current Idaho POST Instructor certification OR be willing to obtain certification within 6 months of hire

The following is not required but is desirable and could increase your score (see questions 7 & 8 on the attached exam):

  • Good organizational skills
  • Skill with Microsoft Office Software: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections has regionalized state services for juveniles committed to its custody, making it possible for most juveniles to remain close enough to their communities so parents and other key community members can take part in the juvenile's treatment. State juvenile correctional centers are located in Lewiston, Nampa, and St. Anthony and provide a full complement of services for 268 youth who range from 10 to 20 years of age.
