The successful candidate will join the PERSI Outreach Program, with an opportunity to travel throughout the beautiful state of Idaho, providing exceptional retirement and PERSI-related training for PERSI members, employers, and PERSI staff. 

You’ll get to: 

  • Refine outreach and training materials, including workshops and presentations for PERSI members and stakeholders; you’ll make sure we’re making the right impression and you’ll make it stick!
  • Develop and execute a statewide strategy (along with your colleagues), designed to create a face-to-face relationship with our newer and younger members. You’ll be lauding the value of the PERSI benefits to all kinds of public workers – so be ready to relate.
  • Conduct on-location, in-person retirement planning workshops for PERSI members throughout the state.
  • Prepare quarterly analysis and reporting presentation that identifies and evaluates your successes, and highlights the plans/strategies you’re going to implement going forward to build on that success. Cool charts and graphics will really help.
  • Plan to be on-the-road for all or part of at least two weeks out of each month, connecting face-to-face with employers, newer and younger members, as well as workers getting ready to retire.
  • Collaborate with PERSI management to identify internal training needs. Then work with internal PERSI rock-star subject matter experts and collaborate with the entire Outreach Program team to develop and deliver top-notch internal learning experiences for your coworkers!
  • Learn about, and talk about, financial planning and other stuff we all dream about!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of training theory
  • Experience performing needs assessments, developing training objectives, designing and developing coursework, and evaluating the training
  • Experience presenting training to adult groups in structured learning situations
  • Experience using a variety of training methods
  • Some knowledge of employee benefit programs related to retirement including Defined Contribution Plan, Defined Benefit Plan, Social Security and Medicare
  • Experience explaining federal laws and rules concerning retirement vehicles such as 401(a) Defined Benefit Plans, 401(k), 457, 403(b), IRA’s, Roth IRA’s and tax consequences of each

Desired Qualifications:

  • Formal education in web design or graphic design
  • Demonstrated experience in website building and graphic design
  • Experience explaining dollar cost averaging, time value of money, and related financial principles
