Albertsons Library

This position is in the Ordering & Interlibrary Loan section of Albertsons Library Acquisitions & Collections Services. The Ordering & Interlibrary Loan section is responsible for ordering monographic and non-subscription library resources, Interlibrary Loan functions, and gift-in-kind processing.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interlibrary Loan: Provide Interlibrary Loan lending, borrowing, and document delivery services to library patrons and ILL library partners; perform Interlibrary Loan billing functions; serve as lead in ILL lending activities.
  • Order monographic, non-subscription and non-print materials for Albertsons Library’s collections; perform complex bibliographic research;
  • Prepare reports on Acquisitions & Collections costs and services.
  • Supervise Acquisitions & Collections student assistant staff.
  • Participate in unit communication, planning, service, work and organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in at least two of the following areas:

  • Bibliographic search strategies
  • MARC cataloging format and descriptive cataloging standards
  • Bibliographic sources and reference tools
  • Library automation

Experience in all of the following areas:

  • Organizing collections or planning library work
  • Computer applications software
  • Training or instructing others in library practices and procedures

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Technical Services area of an academic library with responsibility for performing acquisitions, serials, or interlibrary loan functions
  • Experience using electronic library resources, such as databases, ejournals and ebooks
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to complete long term projects and maintain a high level of focus in a detail oriented environment.
