The Idaho Division of Human Resources (DHR) is seeking a Health Education Specialist, Senior in Boise. This position will manage the statewide Health Matters program, providing leadership, advocacy, and technical direction. Included but not limited to activities that support, improve, and promote employee wellness education initiatives in state agencies and support the mission of DHR.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Responsible for statewide leadership, management, and guidance of the Health Matters Employee Wellness Program. Research relevant wellness initiatives/issues and make recommendations to wellness decision makers including agency administrators, agency wellness contacts, and wellness committees/task forces.
  • Program Development & Maintenance: Develop and maintain the Health Matters Wellness Program, including researching, writing, and formatting the monthly content for the Health Matters website, Facebook Page, ChooseHealthMatters.com Blog, and twice monthly wellness e-newsletters.
  • Networks: Establish and maintain healthcare provider networks across the state. Establish and maintain a State agency Wellness Contacts network.
  • Consultation & Technical Assistance: provide consultation to agency Wellness Contacts providing wellness program recommendations based on current evidence-based best practices.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems on the website, blog, and with Facebook.
  • Marketing: Market and promote Health Matters to agencies, employees, and healthcare providers.
  • Program Documentation: Write and maintain the Health Matters program mission, policies/guidelines, reports, and/or business plan, as required.
  • Establish and maintain program measures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience demonstrating good knowledge of public health education principles and practices to include needs assessment. information dissemination, and community organization relating to common health problems.
  • Experience developing or reviewing, and evaluating health-related informational material.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating public health education programs.
  • Good knowledge of survey methods and basic statistics used to collect and interpret data.
  • Good knowledge of training methods.
