Taco Bell Arena

Boise State University has an opening for a Custodian Foreman in the Taco Bell Arena. This is an event oriented position.   Hours are 8-5 Monday - Friday on non-event days.  On event days, evening, weekend, holiday and overtime work is required.


Interviews and hires student and full-time staff and evaluates performance.
Ensuring appropriate turnaround is completed on a timely basis for events.
Coordinates and oversees work of contracted labor.
Determines custodial care plans for work areas.
Implements quality assurance programs to insure duties are being performed and safety practices followed.
Schedules and coordinates building cleaning and custodial equipment lubrication and maintenance.
Orders supplies and replenishes stocks in supply rooms.
Performs light- and heavy-duty cleaning tasks when staff coverage is inadequate.
Maintains records and reports regarding product use and purchasing of supplies and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Considerable knowledge of: methods, materials, and equipment used in heavy-duty custodial work; custodial safety practices; cleaning agents and related products and their possible reactions.
  • Good knowledge of: supervisory practices; sanitation and infection control; training methods used in custodial work.
  • Experience: using small hand tools; operating and maintaining industrial-type cleaning equipment; preparing records and reports.
  • Physical ability to: climb ladders, bend, stoop, lift and carry items weighing up to approximately 60 pounds and to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift
