The Department of Administration is dedicated to providing responsive, cost effective and timely support services to Idaho's policy makers, public agencies and state employees as they service Idaho's citizens.

This position is responsible for managing statewide web hosting operations, including application support, web site support and web site security.

This position is established as an IT Systems Integration Analyst, Senior, and will be under filled at the IT Systems Integration Analyst level.  Upon successful completion of the required training plan, and when the minimum qualifications of the senior level position are met, the incumbent will be reclassified and compensated accordingly.  The training plan consists of various types of on-the-job training and typically takes 12 to 18 months to complete. 

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain web hosting operations for highly visible, public facing state government web sites
  • Provide expert assistance and consultation to clients related to web hosting and web site design
  • Assist in Domain Name Services (DNS) management and registration
  • Troubleshoot, design and update customer web sites
  • Manage user access and security for web servers and web sites
  • Provide team leadership identifying customer needs, resolving business and technical issues, and designing and implementing new systems
  • Manage, setup and maintain content management systems
  • Manage, setup, configure and maintain enterprise-class web servers in a VMware environment
  • Assist customers with web site content management
  • .Net software development and maintenance of web applications
  • Provide after-hours, on-call support as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: developing, implementing, and maintaining integrated (multi-platform) systems in a multiple platform environment;
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and resolving problems.

Desirable Qualifications (not required, however, having this experience/knowledge may increase your overall score):

  • Good Knowledge of:
    • Web editing programs (Dreamweaver, Visual Studio, etc.)
    • Mainstream Server operating systems and VMware
    • MS SQL Server Clustering
    • Microsoft .Net software development primarily in C#
    • MS SharePoint administration
    • Graphic editing software applications
    • Relational database applications and structures
  • Experience with:
    • Independent installation, configuration, monitoring, reporting and troubleshooting of server operating systems (Windows) and web server applications
    • Setup, configuration and management of enterprise-class SQL Server environments
    • Setup, configuration and monitoring of Internet, Intranet and Extranet security policies and procedures
