Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of: structured wiring systems in accordance with supporting international standards; data transport technology in multiple locations.
  • Experience: supporting one or more network operating systems; installing, administering, and configuring two or more multi-protocol routers wireless access points and layer 2 switches in multiple locations; troubleshooting, isolating, and interpreting performance problems in a multiple environment. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in related technology, or coursework on path to degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge focusing on TCP/IP, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows 2008/2012/2016 Server, Windows 7/8/10.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing, properly and professionally.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness turning analysis into useful and functioning systems.
  • Personality and social skills that enable and maintain productive and cooperative working relationships.
  • Work ethic that is productive and efficient with only minimal oversight.
  • Knowledge and troubleshooting skills with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills as it relates to network systems.


  • Designs and tests local area data communications networks to meet the needs of the college. 
  • Prepares specifications and plans for implementation of new or enhanced networks. 
  • Designs, configures, and implements LAN/WAN hardware, software, and ancillary services for network operating efficiency. 
  • Performs or provides technical guidance in the installation and configuration of network equipment and resolving user or systems problems. 
  • Assists in and may perform router installation, router software upgrade, and connections of site to Ethernet and Fiber. 
  • Develops methods and criteria for network data collections and analysis. 
  • Ensures network operating problems are resolved. 
  • Maintains network security and sets up firewalls. 
  • Maintains and monitors WAN networks.
