The State Office is filling the position of IT Database Analyst.  The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Information Services Manager to design, develop, install, and test new, enhanced, or purchased database systems in support of the agency’s enterprise database architecture.   

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assure compatibility and efficiency of database applications through ongoing system monitoring and evaluation.
  • Prepares and updates data models and develops standards for updating the enterprise data dictionary.
  • Develops security requirements for online applications.
  • Provides technical expertise on database management systems to clients, management, and IT personnel.
  • Make recommendations and communicate ongoing issues to management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience using data modeling concepts and database definitions.
  • Experience using database design techniques.
  • Experience testing and debugging databases.
  • Experience generating and maintaining database management systems.
  • Experience applying security concepts while designing and maintaining database structures data integrity.
  • Experience interacting with clients to analyze client needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work on a computer for 2 - 4 hours at a time
  • Some periods of heavy readying and typing required
  • Some travel may be required
