The Tax Commission is recruiting for an IT Database Analyst, Senior in Boise

 Principal Responsibilities:

  • Design and install large, complex database management system applications
  • Ensure the security, quality, and integrity of data resources
  • Research and create new and innovative ideas for solving the most complex design and installation problems on large, complex systems that interface with other major databases systems
  • Complete long-range database planning and design
  • Ensure compatibility and efficiency of database applications
  • Oversee and enforce standards and procedures for use and backup
  • Prepare project phase plans, schedules, and cost estimates
  • Train staff in data cataloging and library procedures
  • Oversee and ensure security of databases and supporting production software
  • Consult with and advise top management on database systems

Minimum Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have at least eight years in the information technology (IT) field to include five years at the IT Database Analyst level, or equivalent, AND meet all the following requirements. Experience must have been gained within the last ten years.

  • Experience resolving complex database problems on various applications within an agency
  • Experience participating on a project team as a Database Analyst in a leadership role
  • Experience conducting research and writing reports on database issues for management considerations
  • Experience providing technical assistance on database management systems to management, clients, and other IT staff
  • Experience conducting training for agency management and IT staff on database operations
