The IT Programmer Analyst position is used for recruitment and training purposes for the IT Programmer Analyst-Senior position. Through various types of on-the-job training, the employee will learn to carry out the duties of an IT Programmer Analyst-Senior. Typically the Senior level requires 2 years experience as an IT Programmer Analyst or equivalent work experience.  Upon completion of training, the employee will be reclassified to an IT Programmer Analyst, Senior level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, tests and implements new application programs and enhancements
  • Resolves routine to complex programming problems and determines appropriate solutions
  • Researches available tools and technologies to determine alternative technology solutions
  • Confers with users to analyze, develop, and maintain programs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Three years of full-time, work experience in the past 5 years in the information technology (IT) field at the Associate Programmer Analyst level or a combination of education and work experience.

  • Experience with VB.NET, ASP.NET or comparable programming languages in .NET framework 3.5 or higher for developing desktop and/or web applications; experience with Microsoft Visual Studio or comparable product
  • Experience writing program documentation in accordance with published standards
  • Experience with relational databases, such as SQL Server or Oracle,etc.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS), Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Entity Framework, JavaScript, HTML, XML
  • Some experience with system design and analysis
