The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is filling a current opening in the Bureau of Financial Services located in Boise. This position is located in Revenue Operations and will be responsible for client account management, billing, and collections. 

We are searching for an individual with critical thinking skills, communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and good organizational skills. This position requires high attention to detail and the ability to manage a continuous workload.

This announcement will be used to fill a vacancy at Idaho Department of Health and Welfare only.   • Gather information, make decisions, resolve problems, and respond to inquiries
  • Utilize independent judgment and discretion as to the methods, policies, and procedures used to complete assignments
  • Conduct involved searches, which may require accessing and selecting multiple information sources or contact with clients, vendors, or outside sources to obtain information
  • Perform specialized support work that involves an extensive in-depth knowledge of the program
  • Review, evaluate, approve, and process records and/or documents
  • Determine acceptability or conformance to eligibility requirements according to rules, regulations, statutes, and program policies and procedures
  • Explain requirements, processes, and procedures to customers
  • Manipulate and update manual and/or computerized records systems; and develop reports

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors
  • Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems
  • Experience interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments
  • Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system
  • Experience with financial record keeping methods
Additional Qualifications: Are not required; however, having the minimum qualifications and the education and/or education below will increase your score.
  1. Experience managing client accounts and collecting debts. Typically gained by one year of work experience managing client accounts and collecting debts.
  2. Experience working with sensitive or restrictive data. Typically gained by one year of work experience obtaining and safeguarding sensitive information.
  3. Ability to fluently speak, read and write in Spanish and English. If you select 'yes' you may be assessed on your abilities during a hiring interview.
  4. Experience using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel to create and modify electronic worksheets and design and print graphs. Typically gained by one year of work experience using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel to create and modify electronic worksheets and design and print graphs; including complex data analysis using tools such as Pivot tables. 
  5. Some knowledge of medical terminology and the general benefits of Medicaid, Medicare and major insurance companies. Typically gained by at least six months of full-time work experience where applying this knowledge was a primary job responsibility.
