This position is responsible for the governance of data for ITD.  Governance includes coordinating data collection and usage, consolidation of data into flexible systems that integrate with key work areas to provide cohesive analytics, workflows governing data processing, quality and integrity of data, and establishing a data lifecycle including appropriate updating and disposition.  This position assists business with data analytics for data driven decision making, and is responsible for assisting with training and outreach opportunities to educate the business on the value of data governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, collects, and integrates data into approved Systems of Record;
  • Develops procedures and formats for data processing and quality control;
  • Analyze data from business and agencies for ITD usage;
  • Writes standards and procedures for data governance, including data lifecycle;
  • Assess and ensure the validity and integrity of ITD data;
  • Provides support on data analytics for data driven decision making;
  • Works with key stakeholders to understand business needs and disseminate the value of effective data governance.


­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Some knowledge of supervisory practices.
  • Experience using database management systems and other software; independently evaluating and defining data management needs, and recommending and implementing new solutions; and compiling and analyzing data and drawing conclusions.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with data science theories and topics;
  • Experience with data analytics;
  • Coursework in data science, statistics, mathematics;
  • Familiarity with metadata;
  • Programming and querying experience;
  • Fantastic attitude and a desire to work in a team environment.
