SPECIAL NOTIFICATION:  This position is exempt from classified state service and the rules of the Division of Human Resources and the Idaho Personnel Commission.

Criminal Law Division 
Appellate Unit

Responsibilities:
The successful applicant’s will be assigned to the Attorney General’s Appellate Unit. Practice in the Appellate Unit offers intellectually-challenging work in a stimulating environment. Primary duties include researching, preparing briefs, and presenting oral argument to the Supreme Court of Idaho and the Idaho Court of Appeals, in criminal and related cases.  Appellate attorneys may be also be asked to perform other tasks, including advising on a variety of legal issues, reviewing legislation and serving on committees dealing with criminal law.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be licensed to practice law in Idaho. Excellent research and writing skills are a prerequisite, as are word processing and computer research skills.  Prior prosecutorial experience is preferred.  Enthusiasm for public service is essential.
