ITD currently has an opening for an IT Systems Security Analyst, Senior in Boise. The ITD Cyber Security Team strives to reduce risk and improve productivity, allowing employees to securely access the information they need to accomplish their mission critical activities. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of current information technology system security practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in department projects as the IT security subject matter expert
  • Develop processes, policies, procedures and documentation regarding infrastructure/system security
  • Maintain an industry best practice methodology for the ten security domains
  • Research and recommend new and innovative ideas for resolving complex system security tasks
  • Long-range planning for system security architecture and design
  • Analyze business requirements regarding information system security and assist other IT staff in the integration of these requirements
  • Develop and present information system security education and awareness programs throughout the organization
  • Design practices to ensure adherence to policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience auditing security implementation access and violations against policies, procedures, and regulations;
  • Experience performing diagnostics for complex multi-tasking security problems and integrating security controls across service applications;
  • Experience implementing and maintaining vendor supplied security software;
  • Experience working as a project/team leader involving other IT staff and participating on disaster recovery planning team; and
  • Experience writing security related procedures.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with:
    • Security process improvement and policy creation;
    • Configuring and administering PKI for certificate management;
    • Configuring and managing web proxy appliances/servers;
    • Enterprise anti-virus product architecture, design, and management;
    • Administering and configuring Cisco ASA Firewalls. 
  • IT Security certification within the last three years desired or equivalent experience.

  • You must receive a minimum rating of 70 to pass this examination
  • Exam results will be available online when the review process is complete
  • All answers to the questions on the checklist must be supported in the work history, resume, and/or education portion of your application
