IT Systems Analyst

DEQ is seeking a full-time IT Systems Analyst.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct complex data and application analysis and design; software programming; and technical support.  As a member of the Department’s Information Technology team, the incumbent will analyze user needs and creatively apply their technical knowledge in the design and/or modification of new and/or existing applications, databases, and systems. 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain databases and web-based applications
  • Apply technical knowledge creatively to identify and solve complex problems
  • Design database and application systems ensuring design specifications and documentations meet published standards
  • Work with clients and users to identify and define specific IT requirements and advance project development
  • Conduct system tests
  • Advise Information Services Manager on database and web project-related issues

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience performing complex systems design and analysis

Desirable Qualifications (the education and/or experience below is not required but may increase your score):

  • Good skills in one or more of the following areas:
  • Structured Query Language (SQL) queries and insert, update and delete commands
  • Web development environments such as Visual Studio, application frameworks such as ASP.NET, MVC, etc. and one or more modern programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, etc.
  • Database and website design concepts
  • Object Relational Mapping Frameworks such as Nhibernate or Entity Framework

EXAMINATION:

Checklist with supporting documentation. You will receive a score based on your responses to the checklist, provided those responses are supported by the additional information you submit. All responses must be supported in the work history, resume, and/or education portion of your application. You must receive a minimum rating of 70 to pass this examination.
