Labor Director to Discuss Economy with American Falls Chamber
Idaho Department of Labor Director Roger B. Madsen will discuss the local, regional and state economies and Labor's efforts to prepare Idaho's work force for the future with members of the American Falls Chamber of Commerce in October.
Madsen, who has headed the Labor Department for nearly 15 years, will speak to the chamber at 1 p.m. Oct. 15 at the invitation of Mayor Amy Wynn.
Labor Department Pocatello Office Manager Jill Kleist will also cover the wide variety of services the department makes available to businesses and job seekers, including online unemployment insurance account management and job applicant access.
To date, the department has processed a record number of claims for unemployment insurance benefits, which could total $600 million by year’s end.
