An Idaho Department of Labor information technology technician has been honored by the state as its best.
Chris Wood, who has worked for the department for over five years, was named the Information Technology Technician of the Year by the Information Technology Resource Management Council, which oversees and sets policy for the state’s IT systems.
“Chris Wood’s outstanding performance underscores his commitment to the highest quality in his work for the Department of Labor,” Administrative Services Chief Eric Beck said.
In honoring Wood, the council cited his expertise with IP phone systems and Microsoft Office Communication Services as well as his work with Microsoft Exchange and Cisco routers and switches.
The council said Wood sets an example in his professional and helpful interaction with coworkers, customers and technicians from other agencies and organizations, noting that his work has been responsible for significant financial savings to the Department of Labor.
