Employees who lost their jobs on Thursday in the abrupt closure of seven Round Table Pizza outlets in southwestern Idaho are being urged to go to their local Idaho Department of Labor office for help finding a new job and other possible assistance.
Employees are also encouraged to register for work online at http://labor.idaho.gov.
Employees reporting for work on Thursday found the doors locked at the restaurants in Boise, Garden City, Meridian, Eagle and Nampa. Notices were posted advising them of how to pick up their final paychecks.
In a statement, the California-based company blamed skyrocketing gasoline prices and generally adverse economic conditions for its decision to close in southwestern Idaho, idling about 100 people.
Employment consultants at the Department of Labor offices in Boise, Caldwell, Meridian, Emmett, Payette and Mountain Home are available to help these workers find new jobs or possibly secure training that will enhance their skills and improve their re-employment prospects.
