eCIS
eCIS is the next step in career development following CIS Junior. The system is an essential, proactive and participatory resource for the engaging in life and career planning. Comparable and related information is linked in meaningful ways, encouraging students to consider a full range of options in setting goals and developing plans for life after high school. eCIS is the only source for both current and comprehensive Idaho and national information providing a solid framework for using career information to plan high school courses, prepare for postsecondary education and to make informed career decisions.
For students:

- Detailed information on all two-and-four year universities in the nation
- All proprietary schools in Idaho
- Over $155 million worth of scholarship awards listed
- Information files on how to pay for school, write resumes and perform well in an interview
- Several exploration tools including interest, skill and work values assessments*
- Portfolios that include planning tools such as course planners, resume writers and assessment result reports*
For teachers, counselors and career professionals:
- Developmentally appropriate career and life-planning activities and lesson plans
- Assessments in both English and Spanish
- Ability to track and manage student progress and graduation goals*

Take your career exploration to the next level by adding optional modules to your eCIS or CIS Junior system subscriptions. The addition of portfolios and exploration tools allow for a personalized storage of assessment results, research, and resumes that can be accessed from anywhere and each assessment focuses on a specific area such as identifying transferable skills and interests and practicing for common placement exams like GED and SAT. Idaho Career Connect is a free web-based tool linking business information to thousands of Idaho students and job seekers using the Idaho Career Information System website. It also creates a database of volunteers from local businesses that teachers, counselors and administrators can use to locate volunteers for educational activities.
- Expose thousands of students and job seekers annually to local businesses and their missions.
- Reduce “brain drain" by educating the community about the scope of potential careers within local businesses.
- Provide schools and businesses with a streamlined process for partnering.

Idaho Career Connect Volunteer Exchange is delivered by geographic regions. Currently, five regions are developing Idaho Career Connect for their areas:
- Region 1: (Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, Benewah and Shoshone counties)
- Region 2: (Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce counties)
- Region 4: (Blaine, Camas, Gooding, Lincoln, Jerome, Minidoka, Twin Falls and Cassia counties)
- Region 5: (Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Bonneville, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida, and Power counties)
- Region 6: (Butte, Clark, Custer, Fremont, Jefferson, Lemhi, Madison, and Teton counties)
To search for volunteers listed for your region, you must have a staff account in CIS to access the Volunteer Exchange. NOTE: At this time, access to the Volunteer Exchange is available only to schools who are part of the development project in your area.
