Scarlet fever permanently damaged Thomas Edison’s hearing in both ears. Known as the “Wizard of Menlo Park” he was better known as a prolific inventor who holds the record for obtaining the most U.S. patents. He was the inventor of the electric light bulb, phonograph and the motion picture projector.
