Veterans Services

Our Business is Your Future

Welcome Home!

Thanks for Your Service

Now It is Idaho's Turn to Serve You

Idaho employers know the value of military training and service, and they want to benefit from your experience as skilled enlisted personnel, noncommissioned officers and commissioned officers. Translating your military skills into skills for working in a civilian economy will help you find the job you want. At the Idaho Department of Labor, our goal is to be the nation’s best when providing information and resources for job-seeking veterans and their families. The following links will help you access a wide variety of services:

  1. Veterans benefits
  2. A Vet Rep or a Disability Navigator
  3. Career, education, job training and consulting services
  4. Local labor market information
  5. Local resources and other services
  6. Access to many other veterans services to assist you.

In 2008, more than 137 thousand Idahoans were military veterans – 12.5 percent of our adult population. That’s higher than nearly every other state. Last winter we helped over 18,000 veterans with job search and employment issues. More than two thousand soldiers, airmen, marines and naval personnel are leaving the military every year and returning to Idaho.

As a veteran who has provided great service to this country, you have earned benefits for yourself and potentially for your family.

Remember, you must apply for your benefits to receive them.

The Idaho Department of Labor has made it a top priority to assist you and all these returning veterans. Seventeen specially trained veterans representatives – along with many  work force consultants who have experience with veterans issues - are strategically located in 25 local Labor offices throughout the state. All of these people are ready, willing and able to help you find the training, education and other resources necessary for a successful future.

Idaho is proud of you and your service to our country, and it is an honor for the Department of Labor to be able to serve veterans of all wars.
