Idaho Youth Corps

The Idaho Youth Corps is a summer work experience program that offers work opportunities for Idaho’s youth that harness and shape the energy, idealism and work ethic of these young people as they complete meaningful projects that will enhance their communities and the natural resources of our state.

The program, which runs in tandem with the federal Workforce Investment Act, was established in 2008 by the Idaho Department of Labor to work with other agency and non-profit partners.

Interested youth must meet Workforce Investment Act low-income and other eligibility requirements to be involved. For information on program eligibility, office directory and current offerings please review the links below.

Youth Corps programs nationwide still follow the core values that were established in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps to “bring together two underutilized resources -- youth and our land -- in an effort to improve both.” The department has been coordinating this effort statewide since 2008, forming cooperative partnerships between local, state, federal agencies and school districts for Workforce Investment Act youth programs.
